Amitabha Buddha (Sanskrit: Amitābha, meaning “Buddha of Infinite Light” or “Buddha of Infinite Life”) is the ruler of the Western Pure Land—Sukhavati. He is the Guardian Buddha (Benming Buddha) for people born in the Year of the Pig and Year of the Dog in Chinese zodiac culture.
